Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari announced that the scheme would distribute 100,000 solar panels across the province, at a cost of Rs. billion 10 billion.
Under the plan, homes with up to 100 watts of electricity will get 550 watts of solar panels, while those with 1,100 watts of electricity will be provided
These solar solutions are designed to provide homes with sustainable, cost-effective energy, reduce their electricity bills and sustain the environment
To apply for these free solar panels, eligible individuals must follow a simple registration process. Interested applicants can register by texting their number (CNIC) to 8800. This shortcut ensures that a wide range of people can access the practice, especially in rural and underserved areas.
Apart from the solar power scheme, the Punjab government is also working on providing solar power to boreholes. The plan is to convert 8,000 borewells into solar panels, further contributing to the region’s renewable energy supply.
